Calicut
The inescapable history of Calicut which

The Calicut airport is located at Karipur which is 27 km away from the
city. The place is connected by regular flights with Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa,
Madurai and Coimbatore among other places. Other nearby airports are Cochin,
Coimbatore and Mangalore. Calicut has direct train connections with all the
major cities of India. The road connections of Calicut with other major
cities are also very extensive.

» Pookot Lake
It is a natural fresh water lake located at the distance of 13 km from
Kalpetta. The boating facilities, children's park and shopping centre for
handicrafts make it a popular destination among the tourists.
» Ettumanoor Temple
It is a celebrated Shiva temple though the shrines of Saasta, Ganapati and
Dakshinamurthy are also found here.
» Kappad Beach
The Kappad Beach is located at the distance of 16 km from Calicut, and it
is a pleasant stretch of rock studded beach. In the history texts it is
mentioned as the gateway to the Malabar coast.
» Thali Temple
It is an ancient temple which goes back to the Zamorin rule. The deities in
the temple are Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna. It is said that Parshurama
worshiped Lord Shiva here.
